How Elavarasan Grew Up in Poverty in Salem With a ₹300/Day Family Income
Elavarasan is a single child. His family’s financial situation was stable until he was around 14, when a business disaster forced them to move to Salem. His father took a job at a small hotel, earning roughly ₹300 per day.
He went to a government school. Even buying a one-rupee chocolate for him was something his parents would think twice about. That level of financial constraint shaped a mindset early: don’t overspend, save aggressively, don’t depend on anyone, stand on your own feet.
Despite those conditions, his parents made sure he had what he needed. He completed his schooling in Salem, moved to Chennai for college, and earned his B.Com degree from a college in Meenambakkam in 2021. He was 25 at the time of the interview.
How Elavarasan Discovered Online Income During COVID (₹40 Affiliate Commission)
In 2020, during COVID lockdowns, Elavarasan decided to try making money online. He invested ₹5,000 in an affiliate marketing course, built a WordPress website, and within 60-70 days generated around $40 in commissions through referral sales.
That small amount changed everything. Not financially — but mentally. “I realised that making money online is not a myth. It’s real,” he said.
But he couldn’t sustain it consistently. He went back to a regular job in client relations and sales — a role that would later prove critical in closing high-paying clients.
Why Elavarasan Wasted ₹80,000 on a Digital Marketing Course That Didn’t Work
Wanting to build a career in digital marketing, Elavarasan invested ₹80,000 in a reputed institute — one that offered an IIT Madras certificate. It was a live class format, running Saturday-Sunday from 7 PM to 10 PM.
The experience was frustrating. Three-hour live sessions. Students constantly interrupting with questions. Classes stretching until 11:30 PM or midnight. And the content was so technical that he lost motivation halfway through.
“By the time the class ended, I had no energy left to learn. I’d tell myself I’ll open it tomorrow and watch — but I never did,” he said.
He discontinued the course. Then tried another course from a Delhi-based instructor, but that required expensive setup — virtual numbers, international market targeting, website costs. The ROI felt uncertain without client experience.
That’s when he found The High Paying Clients through Nirmal’s ad.
How Elavarasan Completed the 100 Days Challenge in 4 Days
Elavarasan joined the 100 Days Digital Marketing Challenge at the end of May 2025. Because he already had foundational knowledge from previous courses, he completed the entire course content in just 4 days.
The difference from his ₹80,000 course was immediately clear:
- Short, focused videos (10-15 minutes) instead of 3-hour marathon sessions
- Concepts simplified with real examples instead of overly technical explanations
- Training delivered in Tamil — creating a natural connection and easier understanding
- Instant community support instead of email-only support with 2-day response times
- Result-oriented approach instead of theory-heavy curriculum
“An 11-minute video was enough. I could watch it, learn the concept, and implement it. The motivation comes first when you know you can finish quickly,” Elavarasan explained.
How Elavarasan Overcame Self-Doubt Before Starting Outreach
On days 6 and 7 after completing the course, Elavarasan hit a wall. The self-doubt was intense: Can I really do this? Will outreach actually work? Can I deliver results if I get a client?
He identified two things that helped him push through:
First: Everyone else in the community had done it. If outreach wasn’t working, the problem was with his execution, not the course. So he had to try.
Second: His delivery confidence was low. He wasn’t sure he could execute if he landed a client. So instead of forcing outreach immediately, he made a strategic detour — he joined a real estate company for ₹25,000/month salary to build hands-on experience.
How Elavarasan Generated ₹25 Lakhs in Deals for a Real Estate Company in His First Month
At the real estate company, Elavarasan set up their complete digital marketing — campaigns, social media pages, lead generation systems. In his very first month, the leads he generated resulted in ₹25 lakhs worth of deals closed by the sales team.
That single result gave him the confidence he needed: “I can do this. I can deliver.”
He quit the job, brought in a friend and two-three former office colleagues, and started his own agency. They began outreach using the systems taught in the 100 Days Challenge — and within 15-20 days, collected 600 leads.
The Voice Note Tactic That 6x’d Elavarasan’s Outreach Response Rate
Elavarasan used the standard THPC messaging system for outreach. First message, second message — all followed the process. But for the third follow-up, he made one small change that dramatically improved results.
Instead of sending another text message, he sent a voice note.
The logic was simple: when a business owner sees a notification for a text message, they might ignore it — it looks like every other automated pitch. But a voice note is different. Curiosity alone gets them to open it.
“I sent 10 voice notes, put my phone down, and checked the next day. 6 out of 10 had replied — some positive, some negative, but I got a response,” Elavarasan said. “That’s when I knew the method works.”
He made this a consistent practice across his team. The key insight: everyone is sending automated copy-paste messages. A voice note — or even a short video — stands out because it feels personal and real.
How Networking and Free Work Led to Elavarasan’s ₹2 Lakh/Month Client
While outreach was running on one side, Elavarasan started building his network. He did small jobs for community members — video editing, content writing, script writing — sometimes for very low amounts.
He didn’t see this as cheap work. He saw it as investment.
“That ₹400 for a video edit — you can spend it on one lunch. But if you do great work for that ₹400, you build a relationship with a business owner. That business owner has many clients. They’ll come back to you with real projects,” he explained.
That’s exactly what happened. Through networking within the THPC community, he connected with a large real estate and construction company. They were doing business in crores — their average minimum deal was ₹2 crores, earning them ₹30-40 lakhs in commissions per deal.
For a business earning ₹30-40 lakhs per deal, paying Elavarasan ₹2 lakhs per month was a small investment.
How Elavarasan Grew a Client’s YouTube Channel From 13K to 60K Subscribers Organically
Elavarasan’s big client needed three things: organic YouTube channel growth, website development, and performance marketing. When he started, the client’s YouTube channel had around 13,000 subscribers. It has since grown to approximately 60,000 — entirely through organic strategies.
In his very first month working with them, he generated ₹13 crores worth of organic deals. No paid ads for those results — pure content strategy and organic reach.
His approach is 70% organic, 30% paid. By building a strong content and organic foundation first, the paid campaigns become far more effective — and the client doesn’t need to spend excessive amounts on ads.
Why Elavarasan Targets Businesses Earning Crores — Not Small Shops
One of the most important lessons Elavarasan shared was about client selection. Early in his outreach days, he was messaging everyone randomly — makeup artists, tattoo artists, fashion businesses.
Then he realised something critical:
“If someone is earning ₹5-10 lakhs/month from their business, they might consider paying ₹50,000 for marketing. But someone who just started and is barely making money — they won’t even pay ₹10,000. It’s not about convincing. It’s about choosing the right prospect.”
He now works exclusively with businesses earning in crores. His service charge is approximately 10% of the revenue he generates for them. When you generate ₹30-40 lakhs for a client, charging ₹2 lakhs is easy — they don’t even negotiate. They value time saved and results delivered.
This is the same principle taught in the 100 Days Challenge: if you want to earn ₹1 lakh/month, work with clients who earn at least ₹10 lakhs/month.
How Elavarasan Built His Agency Team While Working From Home
Elavarasan runs his entire agency from home. No office, no fancy setup. His team handles performance marketing while he focuses on organic growth and client management.
His team-building philosophy is straightforward:
- If you’re earning ₹2 lakhs/month, your team members should be capable of earning at least ₹25,000 individually — that’s when scaling becomes possible
- Give them tasks and observe: do they just complete what’s assigned, or do they proactively ask “what’s next?”
- People who only do assigned work — or worse, don’t even complete assigned work — need to be replaced quickly
- The right team member learns independently, takes initiative, and treats your agency’s growth as their own
“Managing people is a headache. That’s the truth. But if you want to scale beyond ₹2-3 lakhs as an individual freelancer, you need a team,” Elavarasan said.
How Elavarasan Closes High-Ticket Clients Without a Portfolio
When Elavarasan landed his ₹2 lakh/month client, he didn’t have an impressive portfolio. What he did instead:
- Studied the client’s business for one full week — understood their market, competitors, and current marketing
- Prepared a complete presentation — not a generic pitch deck, but a specific plan for their business
- Included his case studies — results from the real estate company where he’d generated ₹25 lakhs in deals
- Offered risk reversal — started with lower pricing, promised results within a specific timeframe
- Demonstrated business understanding — spoke their language, asked about their current leads, conversion rates, and revenue
“Businesses earning crores don’t bargain. They care about time saved and results delivered. If you understand their business and can show them how you’ll deliver results, they’ll pay,” he explained.
The key to closing without a portfolio: reduce the client’s risk. Start with a lower price, deliver undeniable results, then increase your fee. His first client started at ₹10,000. Now he charges ₹2 lakhs/month.
Elavarasan’s Sales Call Strategy: Listen First, Pitch Later
One of the strongest points Elavarasan made was about sales conversations. Most freelancers talk too much on sales calls — explaining their services, their experience, their process. The client tunes out.
Elavarasan’s approach is the opposite: listen first.
Instead of saying “I can get you 30-50 leads,” he asks: “How many leads are you currently getting? Out of those, how many convert? What revenue does that generate?” Then he identifies the gap and positions his service as the solution to that specific gap.
“If a client is already getting 1,000 leads per month and you offer them 50 more leads, they’ll ignore you. But if you find out that only 4 out of those 1,000 are converting, and you can improve that conversion rate — now you have their attention,” he said.
This listening-first approach is taught in the 100 Days Challenge mock call sessions. Ask the right questions, press on the pain points, and the client will open up about their real problems. That’s when the sale happens naturally.

Elavarasan joined the 100 Days Digital Marketing Challenge in May 2025. He completed the course in 4 days, spent 2 months building hands-on experience at a real estate company, then launched his own agency. Through outreach, voice note follow-ups, and networking within the THPC community, he built a client base that now generates nearly ₹4 lakhs/month in agency revenue — with ₹2,87,000 as his personal income.
Q: What services does Elavarasan’s digital marketing agency offer?
His agency focuses on organic YouTube channel growth, website development, performance marketing (Meta Ads), and content strategy. His approach is 70% organic and 30% paid — which means clients don’t need to spend excessive amounts on ads. He positions himself as a complete digital marketing solution for businesses earning in crores.
Q: How does the voice note outreach tactic work for landing clients?
After the standard first and second text messages, Elavarasan sends a personalised voice note as the third follow-up instead of another text. Business owners are more likely to open and listen to a voice note out of curiosity — whereas automated text messages are often ignored. His team saw response rates jump from 1-2 out of 12 (text only) to 6 out of 10 (voice notes).
Q: Can you start a digital marketing agency without an office?
Yes. Elavarasan runs his entire agency from home. His team also works remotely. He advises against spending on fancy offices, especially when starting out. The only thing that matters is delivering results — clients don’t care where you work from. Several other 100 Days Challenge participants, including Guru from Madurai and Rajesh, also work from home.
Q: How much does the 100 Days Digital Marketing Challenge cost?
The 100 Days Digital Marketing Challenge by The High Paying Clients costs ₹10,000 — a one-time payment with lifetime access. Elavarasan previously spent ₹80,000 on an institute course that didn’t work for him. The 100 Days Challenge delivered results within months at a fraction of the cost.
